Insider’s Herrine Ro and friend Erin Kommor search New York City to find the best steak. They visit three iconic restaurants: Delmonico’s, Peter Luger Steak House, and Keen’s Steakhouse. After trying the most popular cut of steak at each place, they declare which place they think is best in town.

Editor’s note: This episode was filmed in December 2019 and January 2020. As of July 2020 both Keens Steakhouse and Delmonicos remain closed, however Peter Luger is open for takeout service.

Can't really compare a porterhouse and a ribeye steak, should've ordered the same cut at every place

It's so odd to watch a video about steak houses without hearing "platonic ideal" and "maillard reaction"

$51 seems incredibly cheap for steak of that quality

Am I the only one who thinks they should’ve gotten the same cut of meat at every restaurant.

I’ve eaten at many of NYC’s best-known steakhouses. Yet, the one I keep coming back to is Keens. The steak and sides are consistently excellent. And the historic setting is unmatched in the city. But, I think you really can’t go wrong at either of the three steakhouses in this review. Each has a well-deserved reputation.

You need to compare steak cuts. Ribeyes and Porterhouses are two different cuts and two different flavor profiles.

Everything in this was amazing minus the two people hosting it .

As a NEW YORKER, and eating at all 3 places, I can honestly say that Delmonicos is the best followed by Keens. Lugers is great too but most people that have never tried the other 2, will try Lugers based on its fame. They’ll say it’s the best steak they’ve ever had. But they’re comparing it to a local steakhouse
