I use the slideshow feature when I am hired for an event (like at a convention center, etc.). If I have an all-day event, I shoot until I fill up one of my SD cards, then ingest them to the laptop, pick out the "usable" photos, then use the slideshow for all the usable photos (people love the instant viewing).

Great overview and great improvement points... Just two points

1) With regards to having almost all photoshop tools in lightroom, i think we should remember they are a business and they still need reasons for a consumer to buy both lightroom and photoshop.

2) For faster workflow, I use FastPictureViewer to look at all my photos and pick the "keepers" then import them into lightroom. It renders raw files much faster and you can easily zoom to 100% and check for sharpness for example.

Do you know if LR6 face recognition can make use of files already sorted and catalogued by Google Picasa's face recognition (i.e. can it safely read the EXIF data already saved by Picasa into the original pictures) ?

Fine, I just recognized the voice, it's Julianne Kosts video sound! Happy to hear she made some clips again, I like her tutorials, she's got a nice way of explaining things.

Yet another great show and your collective personalities really ROCK :)
Ditto on your production value and many thanks for shifting to lavalier mics!

At about 1:10 you asked for a possibility to search for horizontal or vertical images. It is in Lightroom 5 already. In metadata filtering you may filter for portrait, landscape and square aspect ratio.

yes you have a slider to dial adjustment brush, it is the effect amount slider they could add it to the rest. but for now I use the fader plugin.

Love your videos as well as your book!  Do you know if Adobe will be charging to upgrade from LR 5 to LR 6?

This is a very good review if only to highlight what Lightroom 6 is missing. If you cant be bothered to watch the whole thing just watch the last 10 minutes when Tony highlights the features that could have been in Lightroom 6 but are not. I could add more like 1) in the book module why are we limited to 10x8 or 13x11? It is not as though any photographers actually shoot these ratios. 2) Why cant Lightroom have a library back up option (as opposed to catalog)?

Hi, how do you think about the capture one pro8. Personally, I think the CP1 is easier and good quality, but not very good at interact with other adobe software.

Man, I can't wait till I can buy your book and get the lightroom cc, I've started to take pictures in RAW now, so I can play with them once I get the skills and the software.. :) few weeks till I get paid and off to amazon :)

In Lightroom 6, how did you filter (find/select) all images of a certain aspect ratio (i.e., horizontal, vertical, square ...)? BTW: Thanks for the outstanding review!

Please tell me what that 3rd party plugin for missing lens metadata is, the only ones I've seen in the past make you manually go into the file and edit strings of code, which is both time consuming and not for those of us who are as tech savy as Tony.

Have done the thing you mentioned, bought a new camera and then had to upgrade my current Adobe LR. Sucks... But glad they are making a CC out of it.

You said that Lightroom won't let you sync photos over a network, but why not use a NAS as the location for your Lightroom library?

Thanks guys. Do you know if Lightroom 6 and CC are compatible with Lightroom Analytics or something equivalent? I would like to set this plug-in up, but cannot find it out anymore for download. Cheers.

Hi, just being curious...if I buy the paperback version from Amazon, how can I access the videos for your lightroom 6 tutorial?

There is a very fast import process for Lightroom (not using Lightroom) - import your images using Apple's import utility to your hard drive, then synchronise that folder in Lightroom.

By syncing, I think Lightroom does less work by not reading the cards, placing images in a folder, then point catalog to that folder. (I am using a mac - I am sure it work on windows too). It's a shame after so long they haven't found a way to speed up import.
