One reason I like this song (not just because of the movie) is because I am very soft spoken and it gets very frustrating when other people try talking over me, unintentionally or otherwise. I've gotten more assertive lately, but still, my speaking level is always at library level.

What a great song.! I am from one of the last generation of people who think little girls should be quiet and obedient and never have an opinion of their own. One reason I love this song is because I relate to the lyrics (prolly not the meaning but the lyrics deffinantly) when I first heard it I was in a abusive household, when I got out I was defiant and when I listened to the lyrics better, I found out I relate to the lyrics like “ try to lock me in this cage I won’t just lay me down and die!” Reminds me of how I’d be locked in my room for days or even weeks.
