You got one thing wrong: Orks are somewhat aware of human hierarchy, but not in the way we think.
They do think that humies are all the same size so it's problematic, but they have noticed that they sometime use regalia to know who is in charge; more medals or bigger hat = boss.
They also noticed while watching commissars that it is traditional for humans to shoot their allies until they agree to their boss decisions, which they can understand.

Imagine how EXTREMELY disappointed the orks would be if they ever reached the God-Emperor. They come in expecting an awesome fight with a giant humie, and the git's already krumped.

orcs causing nid infestations not just for the fight but to troll humans on those planets is something I didn't expect as a newcomer to this franchise.

I love that the Old Ones set out to creat the perfect standing army that has endless reserves and no fear, but ended up creating the happiest, most Zen species in the galaxy.

I love the idea that orcs don't like torture and they find it mean and it makes them sick unless it's funny.

I love the Ork Warboss from the Farsight books who's whole motivation for fighting the Tau is that he got really annoyed by his boys saying the Tau have the best dakka, and became determined to beat them at their own game to prove that the orks are best.

I remember reading a 40k lore once (years and years and years ago) that said something to the effect that Orks are so pure - as an entire race - that they are completely immune to the corrupting influence of the warp. Essentially, there is nothing Chaos can corrupt as they are of such a singular purpose as to nearly be the perfect species. The author further posited that they were created long, long ago as a sort of neutralizing or balancing agent throughout the universe; hence, their near-infallible adaptability to any environment, technology, or situation.

I have no idea if any of that is still accurate with the modern lore revamps, but that's kind of beautiful in a cosmic kind of way when you think about it.

I love hearing the various factions talk about each other! One of my favs is that one Eldar philosopher who said that orks thrive where others aren't cuz the other factions ask questions that orks don't care about lmao

Imagine: some Ork lives long enough to remember the War in Heaven like a backup memory from their design as krorks, and remembering how great the fighting was the orks decide to wake up every single tomb workd again just so they can finish the fight.

The absolute funniest part about Orcs to me is the fact that the Imperium doesn’t have a stable economy, but the orcs do😂
