Important note for all plugin developers: He absolutely loves complicated plugins with a loot of knobs, screws, blue blinking lights and hates auto gain, oversampling and Sandstorm by Darude.

The plug sounds very muddy to me compared to the hardware. I'm not keen and was really hoping that I would be. I love straight forward plugins that just do the job. Oh well.

I love that Brandy riff she starts the song off with

For those that were or are asking about the artist, Her name is King Sis and the Song is called Closed To Heaven..

I like how you are casually using your Lewitt 1040 as your YouTube mic. Respect. I'm looking at the pure tube for my youtube.

I love the sound coming from the hardware.. The vst? not so much!

The plugin sounds really good, but the hardware unit sounds fantastic.

Great review. Looks tempting. But if you had to have one more VST reverb in your arsenal, which would be the choice?: Sound Toys Super Plate or this? (I know... I know they are different). But regarding value? Soundtoys is $79 and this is $99. Soundtoys is also offering 5 plates. They both seem of excellent quality.

Wyste your level matching by ear is appalling in this video haha. definitely an off day. but you're right they're not the same. The hardware definitely appears to have a high pass filter on the way in compared to the plugin. close though.

Will have to compare it to the Liquidsonics, Tai Chi

Ordered this over a month ago not knowing what it would be. I own a Creme, and thought for 59€ it would be cool to own Tegeler´s first plugin. It was released on June 1st. I downloaded it, and I really like it. It´s totally different than any of the Reverbs I own.

Never owned the hardware unit - but in practice this reverb either sounds amazing with a quick tweaking, or I just run back to Fabfilter's arms for help. So far I love it.

FWIW, recently tried this on an EVH-esque guitar track pitted against Valhalla DSP, Slate Classic, & Super Plate; this allowed the guitar tone to remain better intact. Like it. Thanks for the review. Cheers

I feel like I would need to add a high pass filter to the plugin to get it nearer the hardware sound. It's SO much bassier for some reason. And the fact the control values are so different is weird. Sounds quite good still, but not at all the same.

The imaging seemed more smeared and wide on the software, but the unit seemed more 3D with depth.

Gotta say I like the initial settings a lot. That's a real smooth lush sound. And 3 knobs is highly appealing. Though I own some other decent verbs, will definitely be interested in purchasing when it goes on sale.

I think every plugin should have a meter that represents gain even if it's just the numbers I want to match in numbers first and then with my ears I mix my eyes first.

the plugin sounds like a real room, the hardware sounds like a hardware. one thing that I always hear with this kind of comparison is that the slight imperfections in the two channels that exist on hardware make the ambience kind of "fall down" verticly. I am sorry for the nostalgists, but hardware reverb never sounds real to me. But of course the goal is not always to create a real sounding ambience. especially this trakc has that 90ies RnB vibe to it, which the hardware hall reproduced. I still prefer the plugin one. Why bring a new song sonicly back 30 years? lol

Been wanting that hardware unit for a while. It’s considerably brighter, and you can hear the tubes imo. Hardware does something nice to the stereo field too. That said, some Saturn and proper eq on the plug-in, and you might be able to achieve a close approximation to the hardware. As is common, the hardware just works. You’ll just need to fiddle with the software to make it work the same way. Looking forward to demoing it.

That sounds how a reverb for pop/rock should sound, just tickeling the tunes, keeps the clean sound (if you haven't inserted it as a send?) 😊.

I A/B:ed it against the reverbs from Arturia and my other favourite reverb, Tsar-1 from Softube and it's on pair with Tsar-1 but have a different flavour and in my ears deeper and more natural sounding than all Arturia reverbs from V-collection.
