I was reading a book on anti gravity last night.
I found it quite difficult to put down.

The trilogy, The 3 Body problem, The Dark Forest and Death’s End are the 3 greatest books ever written in my opinion. Books on a level i’ve never experienced before or since.

Whoever is doing these video descriptions etc:

I think it would be great if you linked Klavan (and all other guest) works and books and social medias in these videos. Unless I'm missing something, I think you generally don't? I will regularly click down and look for a book etc only to find I have to google separately. Not a terrible thing, but it would probably boost networking and growth on all sides (audience, Jordan, and guest)

As a practising Baha'i, I fully believe in the unity of both science and religion, without which, a series of open doors to corruption permmiate. This discussion has successfully come to the same conclusion. Bravo!

Jordan Peterson nails it. Virtually all people are affected by bias. And nowhere is it more obvious than with scientists and the most highly educated in all disciplines.

Little correction : the end of the distinction between the supralunar and infralunar worlds is attributed to Galileo, who discovered that the moon had "mountains and valleys" (we'd call them craters today), which indicated that the moon was made of the same stuff than the earth and had the same laws. he then introduced the concept of "universe" in physics (the latins and greeks would use other words like cosmos) which means "one law", as in the laws of physics are the same everywhere.

Curiously, while i disagree with J. Peterson on a lot of things, as a scientist myself, i completely agree with his assessment of scientific establishment. I saw way too much of that mindset, i would even say it is dominating science in this country and maybe elsewhere.

So, science cannot exist without "honesty", "morality", the concept of "truth and right and wrong", and the belief that we're great enough to be able to find truth. *AND WE HAVE ALL OF THOSE THANKS FOR RELIGIOUS VIEWS, * mostly Judeo-Christian views. Without those, the temptation of lying and ignoring truth, FOR OUR OWN BENEFIT, will prevent us from performing science and slow if not stop our scientific advancement. WOW!

I swear I'm not stupid but sometimes what Jordan says goes over my head.

Watched the Netflix version of Three Body Problem and loved it. Found an Asian version on Peacock streaming service with 30 episodes that is fantastic too.

SIMPLE and lack of its value is so well described in this video.

One of the issues of the world today is very similar. AKA Written swords and their meaning too fits a single line of Just like other rules/truths of science/nature, as well follow a single line across the board. Today too many take WORDS and how they are strung together and claim their meaning only in a way to further a career, agenda, personal belief etc as a daily way to use words of the past to support something today. No straight just a wiggles that conclude a truth, as they see fit.

Where in the best practice is taking WORDS and how they are strung together along with, history of time it was written, history of the writer and society of that day, and from this a determined, via logical path of how that all strings together, to determine the inner Ethos of whole text, etc.. From this then discover a text of words for their full real INTENDED meaning. (aka the truth). This way when one does express intentionally the Ethos of a whole document in support of then they expressing so, with a great level of TRUTH. Real truth paints a straight line between other truths.... no a fuzzy line that hits sometimes and not others (similar to the two sets of rules of physics, as is discussed in this video),

IMHO part of today's failure to seek the REAL and deep truth is because we have hammered KISS (keep it simple stupid) damn people avoid all the analysis above and are completely FINE with others ignoring it too. It is to a point that folk ACCEPT "simple" analysis.... to actually hold great "cemented "meaning. While others ASSUME other parties are doing a complex analysis for them when in they are not. Human's avoid difficult (complex) things. A mindset of deep analysis avoidance, allows for miss truths to As Manipulators usurp human's avoidance of difficult/complex thinking as a manipulation tool. They promote SIMPLE because they know "simple thinking minds" greatly opens a door for easier manipulation. Manipulating Fuzzy/simplicity to a particular end, compared to manipulating COMPLEX analysis that entails larger number of individual elements that point then to a conclusion of a more cemented truth, is not so easy a task to bring to a particular "desired" end.

Discussion in this video is of the same issue, just in the scientific "studies" realm... aka the line between the truths... are in line with each

So much of society and Humanity covered in this video. Fantastic.

Edit: All of my academic interest has been in understanding why theories have a ‘best fit’ model, rather than a unifying fit model. And all of my data even in undergrad is into original data, which countermanded established ideas and models.. much to the chagrin of my professors.. I know first hand just how astoundingly stubborn academia is, as it’s run like a business not a school, and incentivises Group Think.

This had very little to do with the Three Body Problem, the book or the math problem. They're talking about fear of the unknown, Jaws would have been a better segue.

I commend this person for his excellent pronunciation of Mandarin and Latin. He clearly has a brilliant mind, i can focus on that and not on his pants :-)

Wow. Nice to see those observing variables related to the special relativity application of personal entanglement onto forming and measurable reality, producing what can only be a non-objective experience by nature of non-quantification of the empirical participation level. Love both of these guys and looking forward to sitting down with Jordan one day. May duality be kind to him as he explores and expands into a more singularity-minded nature.
