No subscription, that is true, but if you want premium voices for everything, ATC and traffic, you have to buy additional credits, and then the price goes up, depending how much you fly, more then a monthly subscription from say intentions, but you have traffic, and SI does not(for now) and do not forget, no VFR .
Each has his own pro and cons, competition is a good thing😮

I enjoy it. Two things I hope improve, taxiing to proper gates and giving us descent permission earlier. For now, I got to switch off BATC at taxii to gates and use GSX pro to gates. Since I've disabled ATC comms in MSFS.

You have to pay $30 for the basic AI voice, which sounds worse than the in-game one, and then an additional $10 for every 2-5 flights to get the better version? What kind of payment option is this? So, you basically need a subscription to access it? I do about 3-4 flights a day—that’s $300 a month just to get the ATC to sound like it does in the video. What a scam.

I like BATC it reminds me alot like Radar Contact 4 but like others they all seem to suffer from STARS and approach vectoring even SI - "SID, STARS, and other approaches/departures will be broken to start, but fixed as we enter the data and make corrections to vectoring. This may take a while".

The first one who incorporates traffic injection sequencing along with SID/STARS and approaches will win this thing. But for sure I'm not paying anyone a monthly fee until then.

Those voices are from monthly subscription variant which is way more expensive... the 30$ pay once is very very castrated and with a lot of "promised" for the future and not yet delivered features.
But they do advertise everywhere desperately and not very truthfully...

Say intentions is much much better and traffic control is also coming soon. Besides say intentions has much more life like voices out of the box, and also say intentions includes cabin crew, co pilot, cabin crisis, atc chatter from other users based on local frequency and location. Beyond ATC is okay but nowhere near Say intentions

This company has not delivered a promise to us blind individuals yet. They claimed that they were gonna make this accessible to us. Staying with same intentions, which is fine better.

Say Intentions hand down.... Used BATC for 5 months and it has so many flaws let alone an egotistical developer.... Approaches are atrocious in so many regards.... Vectors will make you question reality... Basic sounds are junk and so bland after a month or two of use thus it turns into a subscription based option that costs way more than Say Intentions.... Now with Entourage and very very soon traffic injection, $20 a month may seem in the front high but the quality is superior in almost every aspect... BATC if you do not use their wrongful terminology based on circumstance, it just gives you the middle finger... BATC has no VFR support, huge negative... I could go on but let's just say, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. BATC is like flyng Spirit Airlines and Say Intentions is like flying business class with Delta.
