hey i wanna just elaborate more on the chinese writing thing. so chinese is not a phonetic language, so when you read it, you're not seeing the pronunciation, just the meaning. that's why chinese people can read really old scripts because even though the pronunciation has changed since, the meaning of the character is forever. this is also why different dialects can communicate (to an extent of course) through written chinese.

I also want to mention that I personally view this is as a good thing, because clearly this means chinese is not bound by phonetics and because its true meaning can be preserved better, it gives the script more history

Lol one thing that Barby was definitely right is that you really need to talk to a Chinese person to find out something you wanna know, but more often it would be finding out something you weren’t even aware of and you wanna know the answer of this new stuff 😂

The traffic jams for days don’t happen often but I’ve been in one. This usually happens before Chinese New Year when everyone travels to reunite with their family. Just think about what happens if 10% of the whole population wants to reunite with their family and you will get a sense of that 😂😂😂
