Any small town that doesnt have at least one or two employers hiring a decent number of people is destined to slowly disappear. No reason for anyone to stay there and no money coming into the town. Its the opposite if a small town has a few solid employers as then it creates a chain effect of businesses around it and those small towns usually grow bigger.
