Finally. Someone who explains all this in a very smooth way. All other videos go into too much depth and most of the time lose me. Great video. Love that it was straight to the point.

I watched about 5 videos and none got to the point like you. Excellent job, great graphical that helped to understand the explanation. I know it's an old video, but just leaving an idea for next videos like this...you could add a photo quickly just to show how an SSD, NVMe etc looks like ;) Other than that you are great teacher, thanks a lot for the video.

Isn’t M.2 a form factor not a transfer protocol standard? Basically m.2 form factor utilizes the the nvme transfer protocol on a PCIe bus? Correct? I liked the part about the explanation of SATA and NVMe. Many people refer to m.2 as nvme but they are two different things . An m.2 form factor that utilizes AHCI won’t utilize its full potential. It has to use the NVMe transfer protocol to get those speeds. Right?

Please help me to understand something. With the roll out of M.2 drives im having hard time to grasp the concept of what is what..meaning: M.2 it's just a form factor or an interface? the doubt stems from the fact that it can refer to both SATA and PCIe but still then why before they made the part of the interface (as the very slot was called either pcie or sata) and now the slot is called M.2?? so what are SATA and PCI? they refer just to the layout and behaviour of physical pins i guess because then it come into play the protocol that is another thing itself given that pcie can run based on ahci and nvme. My main issue is that i can't figure the difference between what is M.2 and what is PCIe or SATA given that at a first glance they are the slots and hence the interfaces.

you use "standard" in place of "protocol", I dont mean to criticize, I just wanna understand if you could explain it to me when in general the two words can be confused and when instead they imply different things, it's important to me if anyone could explain
