What is this thing?
It’s a concept…which means you can’t buy it…or at least I can’t
Cadillac says they’re exploring the concept of bespoke commissioning or coach building one-offs to spec
Think rolls royce boat tail, etc.
It’s strikingly gorgeous and just exudes old money and old luxury in an incredibly distinguished way
If you thought that Genesis concept cabriolet was a stunner…this might be the new king

Body & sizing
Obviously this is a convertible
Makes sense given the name, yeah?
And it’s a mile long…just as things were back in the day
And “back in the day” will be a theme as we explore this Sollei
Seating configuration is 2+2
With ACTUAL space for rear passengers

Engine
It’s electric, of course - because the vibration and sound and odor produced by petrol is quite simply unbecoming and uncivilized
Assuming a dual motor type thing around 80-100 KwH
Charger on front driver fender

Styling
Obviously as a concept car, the styling is really the focal point
And how could it not be when it looks like this
Pale yellow paint is called Manilla Creme
From cars of 57 and 58
This Sollei is also hand painted (very RR)
On top of a matching pastel yellow upholstery
Opulent and ornate are the words to describe this car
Windshield is placed in milled aluminum
No door handles, replaced with buttons
Unifying body lines
LONG AND LOW AND CLEAN
Restrained, let’s the wheels do the talking
LOOK AT THESE WHEELS
I’m not generally pro-chrome but these wheels work
The rear incorporates the signature vertical light blade
BUT with a completely separate tailbar
That gradients away from the center badge

Lighting
Welcome and goodbye choreography

Trunk
I dont think it has one…lol

Rear seats
The door, like the car, is a mile long
And it has to be to offer access to the rear seats
Without subjecting passengers to the indecency of looking like a early/mid 2000s celebrity
Seats looks kinda familiar from Lyriq
But up a notch
Each seat is its own encapsulated entity
Wrapped in excellent wood
Insane stitching and perforations for speakers
Beverage chiller and crystal drinkware
Center console with screen for controls
Some storage in front of that
BUT THE WOOD WORK PEOPLE
Such an amazing interpretation on mid-century modern
The layering, the linework
It’s unstained so this is largely raw wood
AND THEN THE BACKS OF THE SEATS
They only way I can describe them is sunburst
And all of this wood work is hand cut and hand placed
This sort of thing is the difference between luxury and opulence

Roof
Material called “daybreak”

Interior Materials
Cadillac’s first endeavor with bio-based sustainable materials
Called Mycelium and it’s derived from mushroom roots
It’s on charging pads, door pockets, etc
Nappa leather seats
Sola yellow is the color name
Sunburst stitching pattern
There’s pink hues integrated to give a sunrise feeling and more dimension based on the lighting of the day
Metal finishes have an “aurora tint” that color shifts
Floor mat material called “bask”....idk

Interior design
Ambient lighting with multiple zones
126 colors PER ZONE
Two spoke steering wheel similar to lyriq

Tech
55 in “pillar to pillar” screen
That’s now rolling out in the newest Caddys
There’s also ANOTHER screen below

Odds & Ends
This car is for birding enthusiasts
There’s a designated place for a bird call
They give you a cas for this thing
And they give you a case for the notebook and pencils
So you can document every blue footed boobie you see
Heritage generational tribute on center console detailing
Cadillac spirit of ecstasy on control wheel

Special thanks to our Patreons for their support of the channel! What do you think of the Cadillac Sollei concept?

Cadillac - you have fooled me before. Stop showing me what you CAN do - and do it already. This concept is a game changer in the design alone.

That interior wood isn't mid century modern. It's Art Deco. It looks almost like it belongs in the Chrysler Building. This is gorgeous. Considering that this seems to start with the Celestiq, it should be easy to put into production.

The most beautiful car I’ve seen in AGES. BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Enough already!!! I am tired of decades of Cadillac teasing us with beautiful cars and then delivering pigeon toed, bucktooth, underwhelming corporate underachievers. This is what should be built instead of the orange car behind it. BUILD IT!

GM/Cadillac does this all the time over the decades. They give us a piece of Art as a Concept Vehicle. Everyone gets excited. To be let down 😂.🎉

It’s unapologetically 🇺🇸, back to Cadillac roots

They better make this. This should have been made before the Celestiq. Everything is so production ready. You already see so many elements on different vehicles that’s already in production. Those wood features are amazing.

Honestly this is what I kind of expected from Cadillac. Seems like they were going in the right path to start back making better luxury cars. This is something we should be seeing from Lincoln and Buick as well. I’m so proud of this and the Escalade. They both are better than their European and Asian rivals

They're saying this is a concept but the fact that it has everything from cameras, sensors, and a door chime.. This is literally production ready

Basically a 2-door, convertible Celestiq. Honestly, this works A LOT better. The Celestiq's hatchback-like rear looks weird and out of place and kind of ruins the whole flow. This version nails it. Since they are already making the Celestiq, they should DEFINITELY do this alongside. I bet this would outsell by at least 3 to 1.

Cadillac... don't think... MAKE THIS HAPPEN. Don't let this be yet another awesome concept that never gets made. If you really want to compete with Rolls and Bentley, THIS is how you do it.

The attention to detail is sublime. When the headlights turn on it looks like water droplets rolling down a window pane on a rainy day.

Incredibly striking vehicle. I definitely prefer this over the Celestiq. I've never been a big fan of shooting brake rear proportions and the Sollei dispenses with that ungainly device. I'm willing to bet the convertible top cuts an impressive profile.

really don't have sufficient words to describe how stunning this car is!

I honestly don’t know what looks better, the front, side profile, rear end or the interior. It’s ALL stunning. I think the rear and interior are my favorites! Just absolutely blew my mind.

I have concept fatigue. All these doable, fabulous [concept] vehicles from Cadillac show that they and GM can make world class transportation, but simply will not produce them which would help Cadillac live up to its' heritage. Why? Why?

Holy Crap this is gorgeous I wouldn’t change a thing Cadillac needs to make this, it’s a Celetiq convertible

Beautiful convertible! Somehow managed to look better than the Celestiq.

Honestly there’s nothing stopping Cadillac from making this as is. It looks indetical to the lyriq but in coupe convertible form

We need to push Cadillac to make one for middle class and this one for the Uber expensive I would definitely buy this car
