so when I put in the lua address into PATH and press ok and get out of it, it disappears. Do you know why that is?

how to fix it says after i entered the lua hello.lua it says C:/Program Files/Lua/lua.exe: error while loading shared libraries: ?: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

it doesn't work for me whenever i download lua 5.3.5 or any versions it keeps directing me to 5.3.6 and all the names are diffrent can someone help me pls

So my friend and I know this guy who does coding and I asked him where to start and he recommended Lua. I’m completely new to coding but hope to help eventually with coding a final fantasy 11 private server. How in depth do you go with all your videos? Will I be able to get a grasp on Lua and start my hopefully new hobby coding? If your videos are incomplete is there something you’d recommend after finishing your 8 tutorial Lua videos? I really appreciate you taking the time to make these, as I really want to learn to code.

edit2: ran into a new problem now; worked just fine for a long time but now all of a sudden stopped working; whenever i try to run Any kind of a command with lua, it just gives me an error "cannot open hello: No such file or directory" eventually it turned out i must've had a typo somewhere when i was trying to do "lua hello.lua" because when i pressed the up arrow and enter like in the video the code wouldn't run but when i manually typed it it finally started working again. (sorry for the constant edits, i wanted to post my problems and solutions just in case some other poor beginner like me runs into similar problems :D )

Edit: problem solved, i just downloaded the "lua for windows" package (from the same download page where the binaries are listed) and copied the .exe and the other files from that download, works perfectly


ran into a problem immediately; when i download the latest lua binary from the website (at the moment the latest is 5.4.2) the files that come with the download are completely different from the ones in your video, what's that all about and does it matter..? (the files that come with the download are a folder calles include, lua54.dll and lua 54.lib so there's no lua.exe for example)
