I used to understand the economy. But update broke me

I used to struggle too.
1. Open the market tab, see what you have a surplus of.
2. Scroll around the map to find where that same thing is most expensive
3. Export to that place
This is a very easy way to make some cash

You can also import your shortages, use the export/import focus to manipulate the income you get from these trades, have as many trade agreements if your market is suffering, occasionally raise taxes for a few months then drop them, lower wages, take treaty ports to have unrestricted trade (especially with chinese market which is massive). Etc

Its not hard, but definitely confusing and overwhelming at first.

I love the vic3 economy system. It's so much better than Vic2 and probably one of the only very few reasons to play it over vic2

max tax's and service and a luxury good tax and maybe more build 10 construction zones build some tools iron and coal and whatever makes money and slowly but surely reduce taxes and expanded and better laws its easy but to much to soon in an area will cause bankruptcy
