He’s not wrong re Shearer getting better after he left Southampton. Didn’t realise how low Shearer’s goals per game ratio is at Southampton compared to his other clubs.

Dalglish employed a different style at Blackburn to the way his Liverpool team played.
At Liverpool, it was about sharp incisive moves. At Blackburn, his teams got the ball wide and got lots of crosses in.

He scored a hat-trick on his debut vs Arsenal which should've been a clue and there's video on YouTube of him in the youth squad in 88 doing his infamous goal celebration...but apart from tbat... don't think Le Tiss was too interested in anyone at the time but himself! Dalglish saw his potential clearly.

Did Alan not score a hat trick against arsenal at 17 or 18 and scored against France full international 17 people are saying it didn't score many for Southampton he was just a kid for the most and was in the first team very young and got full international at 17 so i think Tiss kidding when he said he didnt see it in him because i cant think of anyone getting a full cap at 17 and being in the first at Southampton
