Parmenides: Everything is One

The philosophy of Parmenides had a huge influence on Plato, and as a result all of Western philosophy. He has been called the father of ontology, and his philosophy of monism would have later scholars pointing out the similarities in his thought and certain Eastern philosophies such as Advaita Vedanta. I think you should read the second part of Tantra Vidya by Oscar Hinze. He analyzes the second part of On Nature in light of Vedantic monism which characterizes the world of appearances not as false, but rather merely a lesser level of truth.

Philosophy is beautiful. I would ask Parmenides.."Why is Everything one?". Answering that question is at the foundation of philosophy as well as that of reality.
Also, what is that oneness based up on. What defines it.

Parmenides thought about Einstein concept of the Block Universe two and a half millennia before our time. The underappreciation of what Parmenides did is monumental and I wouldn't hesitate to posit he is perhaps one of the most poorly understood Philosophers of all time!

The modern version of "incorruptible" or "unchanging" in Being is that information is never lost in Reality as its bound to phenomenologically cycle back as it is maintained in the Block itself!

Parmenides is the Godfather of Western Philosophy and Father of Metaphysics, Ontology, and Logic. In his singular work, "On Nature" he alludes to the epistemological distinction between knowledge of truth and knowledge of appearances or opinions. In this regard we can also consider him the Father of Epistemology.

Parmenides was more than just a Monist. In fact his philosophy (Ontological Deductions) demonstrates that he was a Dialectical Monist.

There are more than two ways to look at the universe. I see the universe as made up of dualities. Therefore, if I accept that, I must reject this. Duality presupposed symbiotic separation, but seperation none the less.
