Morakniv Kansbol Review (Absolute BEST Mora for the money?)

The Morakniv Kansbol: could it be the absolute best Mora for the money? With Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, a hard 90 degree spine, a dual grind (Scandi to Flat) and a comfortable, cushioned, anti-slip handle that performs even in wet and cold conditions it certainly has a lot going for it right out of the gate. Add to all this a reasonable price tag of around $35 USD (closer to $50 with the upgraded MOLLE Multi-Mount Sheath) and it’s a whole different ball game. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced medium-duty companion knife built for daily use with strength to take some abuse (without abusing your wallet), you’ll want to watch this video.

I have several handcrafted blades who cost me upwards 200 bucks and yet I still finding myself carrying the Kansbol more often. A stellar knife! great review, subbed!

I own and use a Mora Kansbol, and I'm very impressed with it for its design, functionality and durability.

The Kansbol is the best knife for hiking and outdoor use. It is a great wood carver but also works great for cleaning fish or cutting food. And that profile grind is fantastic for so many things.
Have owned Bark River and Fallkniven but sold them all and kept my Mora 2000 and later the Kansbol.
Fun fact: the Mora 2000 is the standard issue knife for Swedish soldiers since the 1990’s. I don’t know if the army is switching to the Kansbol yet, but the green default colour of the Kansbol makes me think that is the case.

Great review. I think this the first review of this knife that I have seen. It looks good, it's affordable and I like the versatility of the sheath as well. I do not own a Mora but would like to pick one up some day so this is one I will definitely consider. Thanks for sharing.

People who turn a perfectly good knife into a ferro rod striker and wood splitter need their heads examined . Spend weeks or months  in the outdoors where ones life depends on a good butchering and  wood tool making knife and you'll dump the idea of a sharp spine which is horribly uncomfortable for butchering and doing fine wood work .
IMO - If an individual can wear a fixed blade on their belt, they can wear a small pouch with contents for starting fires = common book matches - Zippo lighter and a ferro rod for backup .
I like your video and thanks from AK . Lefty

The Kansbol is an awesome back up knife, I keep one in my Haversack kit. I seen lot's of reviews on it before I pulled the trigger, I've beat on this this knife( Within reasonable limitations) It did every task that was asked of it, and it might as well be full tang.

Had mine a few months now and am impressed with it, it was really sharp when I got it's now super sharp after stropping it and sharp enough to shave with. Good all round knife for those on a budget, I paid £26 GBP for mine.

Also mention the mora multi mount that you can buy with the cansbol and garberg

One observation: that plastic clip on other Mora sheaths, like the Companion, won't come off your belt even if you tried to remove it, you often have to remove your belt to take the sheath off.

I have always been using Swedish Mora for more than 30years
But i have never seen this knife before it looks pretty darn awesome
Extremely more efficient than all these Bowie knifes that weigh 500 + gram
Good for fishing, hunting etc

One of my favorite knives. Mora is the best imo for value and quality.

Great video. Really impressed with mora knives and nice to find an affordable knife not made in China. Got a 106 wood carving knife and companion with a Kansbol in the mail. The steel keeps a wicked edge. Think the other great thing about these is that it is a work horse and cheap enough to replace if you had to. Let's face it, why take an expensive custom damascus steel knife out there to potentially get banged up when a mora will pretty much out perform it and be easier to maintain.
