i have been an ER Charge nurse for 6 years . It is important that you know how to categorize your patient . Apply the Nursing process quickly especially assessment and also the triaging techniques . You should know whom to attend first just by looking at the patient. Calmness is also important for an ER Nurse.

4 omg... come to the bronx. im in trauma 1 level center and we get 9 patients and are still running to traumas and notifications.... we TRY....to help a nurse who gets a critical patient out but if there are only 2 nurses in the zone and 20 patients in that zone with more coming in... that other nurse cant take 16 patients. i need to move lol literally.

Any tips for new grad like me who is starting in ER for the first time? I'm gonna brush up on my ACLS skills, plus common problems seen in the ER like MI, Sepsis, etc. Anything else you recommend?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Crosby, you brought some memories of the time I use to work the midnight shift, most of the time when I got that critical hour when my body and eyesight wants to go to sleep, that's when the patients came in one after the other. Having said that, the critical thinking plus time management somehow kicks in and the ball begins to roll. Lastly, I truly enjoyed my night-time nursing, however, my body couldn't keep up after 2yrs. I transferred to the day shift, wishing you as always the very best... Abrazos

True. My assessment on a pt starts as soon as I lay eyes on him or her I assess folks in the grocery stores. Lol!.

Not sure if you still check on these videos or not, but I'm thinking about becoming an ER nurse, and i just wanted to ask you what was the biggest obstacle you had to overcome to achieve your goal?

Hello, I am a grad nurse working on a general medical ward. I want to get into ED but I feel my acute skills aren't up to scratch/ good enough for ED. Any tips would be great on what I should be working on to enhance my skills ?

Great choice of music, the vibe of "Pulp Fiction". 😏
Daily vlogging would have been awesome, but I can only imagine how busy you are, so... only if you can. Cheers Crosby!

Your channel popped up on my feed.. taking my NCLEX again in a few months. My dream was to work in the ER but I have this paranoia that when my patients code and then I'd freeze😬 I did Dialysis b4 with code but it's way different n we're very limited in what we see n what equipment we have. Tips for coding patients?🌻🌻

I see your videos here and there and ok…but this one didn’t say anything. Now that I’m on the nursing end, I understand what you’re saying, but from a student to a new nurse, the word time mgmt is a buzz word. unless you know what it means, it doesn’t have much meaning. Giving examples might help.
