As an owner of one of these I’m sad Doug didn’t put it in Power mode 😢 tightens up the steering and sharpens the acceleration greatly. He would’ve loved it

This car does have drive modes actually. They're buried in the infotainment system. There's a Hybrid mode, Pure Mode (all EV), and Power Mode, which kicks the Gas engine on full time and uses the electric motor for a power boost :) Love the videos doug!

Honestly, I miss the breakdown of each category in the Doug Score. It was interesting to see WHY Doug gave each score.

V90 recharge owner here. The hump in the ground at 6:07 is to protect the batteries from the cold since this was designed in Sweden.

As an S60R owner, I have to say it's an appealing car and a truly proper addition to an already stellar line of underrated cars.

Hey Doug I actually work for Volvo and there is a sport mode but you have to go into the settings menu to turn it on they got rid of the physical button because they said to many crumbs got in it.

Hey Doug, That hump in the middle is actually where the deactivation plug for the High Voltage battery is. You remove the plug under there to isolate the battery and disconnect the two halves of the battery from each other before doing any work on the High Voltage system of the car. Just something fun to know! (Disclaimer to anyone reading: do not remove that cover and play with the plug. Without the proper training and procedures it can be very dangerous and you could be hurt/killed from messing with it)

Where at a point where a 4.1 second 0-60 is “Meh I don’t know what it is 🤷‍♂️” ❤️

I have the estate version and it is an excellent car. Supremely comfortable, economical and fast. Fastest dachshund in Boston.

Volvo really does make some great sleeper cars

A car like this makes sense. I have a 15 mile commute, so 30 miles hopefully fully electric every day to save money but I can’t afford an ev daily and a gas car, on top of that. So when I need actual, real life range without infrastructure anxiety I have this s60s gas engine. It just makes sense. But in a rather unique scenario

Im a mechanic at volvo in sweden and the "transmission tunnel" at 6:09 that is taking up the middle backseat is actually where the high voltage battery lives!

The S60 and the Alfa Romeo Giulia are the best looking sedans on their class. Would love to own this actually. The design and driver seat position is amazing, did a test drive not too long ago.

IMHO as a 10yr Volvo driver - the most overlooked Volvo safety technology is the headlight popup sprinkler because it mitigates road rage - every time I get angry about another car I put them in my blind spot and I turn on the headlight wash - I call it the bukkake feature

I love that Volvo continues to make actual cars - I'm suffering from SUV fatigue. I love the S60, and think I might buy one

I really like the S60 sedan. Very underrated, and very below the radar. Same with the S80.

Heya Doug, I work for Volvo. The hump in the middle is where the hybrid battery is. There are also drive modes but need to be selected through the infotainment screen.

8:39 It always surprises me that PHEVs aren’t more popular. For me, it seems like the best of both worlds and a no-brainer; you get the benefits of an electric car for most daily driving, along with no range anxiety for longer trips. I would like to think that if I was in the market for a new car, a PHEV would be at the top of my list.
