How To Create and Extract Zip Files in Ubuntu

To create a Zip file in Ubuntu:

1) Select your files
2) Right-click on any of them
3) "Compress"
4) Give a file name and location

To uncompress a Zip file in Ubuntu:

1) Select your Zip file
2) Right-click on it
3) "Extract Here"

Thanks for this. I don't know how old the tutorial is now. But I was just wanting to compress a file on Linux Ubuntu, and found that I could right click and select the option to Compress, which did it for me.

so the reson for me getting this program is I want to open and  run programs with it.. Is this just meant to extract files just to see their skelletons? You get my point I want to be able to run programs that are in these files that wont particularly run on Ubunutu.. any help please?
 Im using 7zip.. do i need a seprate player to run these files?
