What did everyone think of "Elegy"? Worth the hype?

The idea of an AI that kills everyone to achieve peace has always fascinated me. The Twilight Zone was so incredibly ahead of its time, its almost unbelievable.

I'm glad real actors were used but given that they literally had to hold still and say nothing the whole time for quite a few takes I'm certain, I can forgive small movements throughout.

I know people have their idea of the darkest Twilight Zone episodes, “The Midnight Sun, ” “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street, ” “Living Doll, ” but coming from someone who has seen every episode, this in my opinion is the darkest because partly for the twist and partly because of the ending.

I love this episode's premise, but man it has 1 of the most depressing endings.

Here’s a terrifying question - are we SURE the astronauts are the only unwilling residents?

I just realized that Twilight Zone really, really, REALLY liked the "3 austronauts" starter.

I definitely agree that this episode stood out for being unsettling, to say the least. I really adore the premise of Elegy and how they were able to shoot extras as if they were completely frozen. Definitely a wonderful installment of TTZ that always stands out to me!

Boy, imagine being an actor and being handed the script to this one. Just 1 page saying "Do nothing".

I think Cecil Kelloway was phenomenal; giving a creepy subtlety that would give his performance an inhuman quality giving a physical appearance of HAL-9000 from 2001: space odyssey. This is one of my favorite episodes

The house at 2:13 was Judy Garlands home in MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS (1944).

This is one of those episodes that really sticks with you. There's so many questions that I almost want an expansion of but I guess some things are just left as questions.

Set designer: What would future spacesuits look like?
Costume designer: Rings. Big, puffy, rings.

I always thought the very small movements made the whole thing much more unsettling.

How is this episode not in the consensus top 50 twilight zone episodes? This is probably the darkest and sickest concept of all the episodes

5:21, not gonna lie, that music made me laugh the first time I saw this episode. It's super dark and sad, but that music was so unexpected I had to laugh!

This is the first one of the twilight zone episodes where the twist actually caught me by surprise; where I didn't see it or anything like it coming!

I kind if liked the small twitches and movements from the real actors. To me it gave a sence of "These people are trapt and trying to move but can't"

This is my favorite episode of the serie, such a grimm atmosphere, and such a heavy twist, after i finished the series i was still thinking about this one.
