Turkish Semolina Halva ( irmik Helvasi)

Ingredients

2 cups of semolina
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of milk
Pine nuts ( optional)
1,5 cups of water
150 g margarin

Method

For syrup

Add 1 cup of sugar to 1,5 cups of water and let it boil

On the other side , melt 150g margarin in a large frying pan then add pine nuts and semolina. Keep stirring on the medium heat till semolina and pine nuts get brownish colour ( it took me 20 min)

When your semolina is brownish then add boiling syrup into semolina .
WARNING ⛔️ you must pour it slowly and make sure pan’s lid closer to you if it is sizzling so much you may want to close the lid .
After you added the syrup stir briefly and then add 1 cup of hot milk - stir and leave on low heat for 2 more min.

Once semolina absorbed the milk and water then take it away from the heat and leave it for rest 5 min.

You can double the ingredients up if you wish to have for 10 servings
