This can be dangerous!

Many candles are made with cheap glassware. This means it is likely to have tiny air pockets within the glass. When the air inside these air pockets get hot enough, and expand, the glass can explode.
This is normally not an issue for the candles because the flame is small and a certain distance from the edges, so it doesn't get that hot. If you insulate the candle it will become A LOT hotter, and you the glass might explode.

Candles are made this way for a reason.

Buy a pack of wicks and reuse the extra candle wax instead. ❤

It's gonna take a lot more than that to 'totally change my life' 😂

Just use a candle warmer. This way you have a safe environment without fire, your candle lasts 20 times longer depending on the size of the room and it's cost effective.

Candles have memories. The wax will only met to the same point you last melted it too. So if you don't have the time to let it burn long enough for the wax to melt all the way to the edges. Don't light it. Make sure to melt it to the edges so there's a level level of wax before blowing it out. Do this to avoid this situation period.

You don’t need foil, just make sure everytime you burn your candles the whole surface is melted otherwise you’ll get the peaks of wax on the sides

If your candle is always tunneled you're trimming your wick too much. It doesn't have enough heat to melt that much surface area if you trimm it too much. You should trim your wick but not all the way down

Life changing lolol I wish my problems in life were nothing more than an uneven burned candle 😅

It's tunneling because you're using the candle wrong. First off, don't cut your wick so short, you arent giving it enough room to create a big enough flame to melt to the edges. Secondly, let your candle burn for multiple hours the FIRST time you light it or you WILL get a tunnel. Candles have a sort of memory, if you don't let them burn to the edge then they never will on their own. Just give it time to melt the whole surface before blowing it out

When you’re lighting a candle for the first time, try to do it when you have quite a bit of time to let it burn. If you melt the entire top surface on the first burn, you shouldn’t experience any tunneling in the future.

I simply push down the soften wax around the edges when I notice it during burning & when I put it out.. obviously being careful not to burn myself..

I love the build-up of wax, I wait till the candle is finished with, and then I remove all the wax and keep it in a tub - Free wax melts in a smell you enjoy! Then I rinse and clean the glass holder, and keep it as a tea light holder👍

Literally nothing related to candles would ever change my life

I did buy a candle warmer to deal. I get what people are saying about safety, but I tend to buy sturdy ones and use additional control/confinement barriers. The candle warmer won't work without electricity, but your method will.

It may be dangerous, but thank you! 😊 My hubby has the habit of blowing out a candle, if I leave the room for a couple of minutes to use the bathroom. It's caused multiple amounts of candle waste, even during electricity outages. 😅😞

If you have a giant seive or strainer, you can put it on top of the candle. I first tried this because I wanted to light a candle and be able to have my ceiling fan on at the same time. The fan is so strong that the candle goes out but I noticed that all the wax collected on the sides of the candle got evened out and now I swear by my little hack.

I look forward to when my life is so perfect otherwise that I care about candles that don't quite burn exactly how I'd like them to 😅

A short wick like this one will be flooded by all the melting wax. Better to scrape small amounts at a time and allow it to melt over the course of a few hours.

one think to note about this: if there's too much tunneled wax, you have to pour some out (you can save it to use as wax melts so it's not wasted or anything) or the level of the wax will be too high for your wick. if your wick is too short when the wax is level, the candle won't stay lit and it will tunnel worse.
(I speak from experience unfortunately lol)
