Neanderthals, Homo neanderthalensis, were stoutly built and big-headed humans, and lived at the same time and in the same areas as modern humans, the Cro Magnons. But they went extinct. Anthropologists have tried to solve the mystery of Neanderthal's fate since the first fossils were discovered in the Neandertal Valley in Germany in the 1800s. Neanderthals, Denisovans, Homo Erectus, Homo Sapiens, all share a common ancestor.

Since Darwin's time, scientists have debated the relationship between Neanderthals and modern humans. Neanderthals sometimes seem like our primitive ancestors, recognizably human, yet not fully human. Neanderthals often have been judged by us as inferior, but their exact fate remains a mystery. Whatever happened, we won the war of evolution.

Neanderthals weren’t dumb. They just couldn’t multiply as fast the Sapiens did. I bet the Neanderthals were very territorial as well due to the size of their preys grazing area. Sapiens probably weren’t welcome causing a war for land. The Sapiens had the numbers to over power the small isolated Neanderthal clans. This war was more like a genocide that caught the Neanderthals off guard. They had a chill 100k years or so then Sapiens show up and swarm Europe. It was only a matter of time before the wave of Sapiens washed away the Neanderthals. Opinions anyone?…
