Back in the 80's I worked the 4pm to 12am shift and on the way home WFLN Philadelphia would have their show "Sleepers Awake" and play Faure's Pavane as their theme song. I'm hearing it now for the first time since then and it brought me to tears thinking of how good things were back then. I really miss those days...

When I was in highschool, decades ago, I would bring my radio into bed with me and listen to WFLN classical music station. And at midnight every single night they ended the show with Faure's Pavane. Then I knew I had to go to sleep.

I am Gen Z, and when my mom showed me this song, near the end of it I started to cry from how amazing this song was and still is. I might not be older, but classical music has always spoken to me as a form of art by itself, and in any generation, it is always amazing to listen to!

This used to be the song the TV stations played late at night before they went off the air and I sat up just to hear its sad haunting tune many times. Love it.

This is one of my all time favorites because I really feel like it incites almost every possible human emotion in a relatively short piece.

I am playing this amazing song in my symphony and it is truly magnificent. We just got it today and I already know it was a keeper

A beautiful; Impressionist/Early 20th century piece, which still holds up today.

Back around the early 1970, after all TV programming was over (the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson) and after playing the national anthem, they would play this before the test pattern. It was incredibly sad and I thought "they should play this at my funeral." I was maybe 18. I haven't though about that for decades.

In 1984, I played this with the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp International Orchestra in Europe. This tour included Paris.

One of the iconic melodies from the pen of Faure. Very beautiful and moving; very well executed!

i ask myself when I hear that song;
what sort of times do we live in now?
answer: timelessness...very few things in life make you feel this way.

This music was included in a radio ("Classical music") in the Fallout 76 game from Bethesda Studios. Their taste in the music that they included in that channel is impeccable and this one is one of the best in there. I listen to this every single day 🙂

I learned this on the piano as a teen, LOVED it, don’t play now but wow I love this orchestral version, so moving. ❤ I love strings as a former violinist too.
