The radio conversation differences between the team and Checo and Max is not favoritism it is just a situational thing. With Checo in the lead, and no one challenging him, there was not much to say but Max had to pass a lot of cars to get into the lead. There is a lot of awareness and strategy he needs to be able to do that.

I’m a huge Checo fan and would love for him to be WC, but he would need to consistently beat the guy who won 15 races last year!!

If Checo wins 8 races this year I would think he has done an outstanding job, but hope he keeps thinking he can win. Gotta believe in yourself to stand half a chance.

Max started on hards hoping for a safety car. Sergio pit stop 2.2 and Max 3.0. - Haters will always see conspiracy theories where there are none. That’s what hate does to perception of reality. Max is simply a better driver. Get over it.

Poor Checo will never be able to live up to Max's standard. He will never be more than a number 2 driver... A good driver but not an exceptional one!

Pirelli tire gave the recommendation for teams to start on the medium tire and then finish on the hard tire. It was Maxs’ engineers that decided to do the opposite. You can’t blame or punish Max for being the best driver. No different than what it was when Hamilton was winning all the time. It’s up to the other teams to catch up to Redbull.

We'll know in 2 weeks if the upgrades worked for the other teams. And lets not forget Red Bull will bring upgrades too. Will be interesting to see later in the season if the cost cap punishment will really hurt Red Bull. But Adrian Newey is a genius, so he will think of something I'm sure.

I think Checo could be the number 1 on most other teams. The problem is that he's not only on the same team with the guy who's clearly the best driver in F1 now, but that they BOTH drive whats also clearly far and away the best car. Checo is talented, a menace on street courses, and probably the best defender in all of F1...but he's just not Max's caliber. I think he knows it, it's kind of obvious after all. There is nothing wrong with not being as good as the guy who is literally breaking records.

I think Red Bull favors Max in the sense that Max is far more integral to their success than Checo. Max can drive anywhere and still do Max like things on the track, providing the car doesn't take a shit (so no Ferrari for now lol), but there's only one other guy on the grid currently who can hope to even occasionally perform like Max does for them and he's currently driving for Aston.

The thing that's hilarious is that they've issued team orders like what...maybe twice about Checo moving aside for Max, but in both situations Max was clearly faster but was actually stuck behind Checo, Checo wasn't in any position to win the Championship or break records and was slowing his teammate down at that point so they simply ask him to move over. Yea it sucks because he felt like he should be allowed to win by driving his own way...but to the team, holding your teammate back simply so you can get a victory by keeping them behind you isn't exactly a good look...particularly when that teammate is demonstrably faster than you and is only behind you because of random chance events. They drive the same car, so there's no substantial argument anyone can make for Checo actually being faster than Max over a full race. Max is instinctual with his racing and so far it's worked wonders for the young man. The hilarious bit is that people seem to ignore the fact that it's only happened a few times and in the times it has Max has been driving much quicker than Checo and only Checos defensive prowess was allowing him to stay in front at all and...the biggest factor...Checo playing defense on Max runs the very real risk that they BOTH wreck each other and then the team goes from a certain 1-2 finish to two DNFs...all because the faster driver wasn't allowed through. No team wants that.

As the season progresses, Aston Martin, Ferrari and Mercedes will definitely get closer, I really have no doubt about that. That is why I would make sure there is a sufficient lead in the WDC now. But yes who am I to say anything about that. ;-)
Furthermore, I don't think Davidson should make such suggestive statements on TV. If he were to ask e.g. Horner in an interview later, that's fine, because then you get adversarial. And I think if a driver thinks he is not getting enough information he will certainly make that known during the race.
But that's my opinion and everyone can have their own ;-)

I actually think that Checo is playing along with the Redbull false narrative of free to race bs. His comments about winning a championship is only propaganda to fuel public opinion. I call the bluff because Max is not that special. Lewis and Nico were actually racing wheel to wheel

Everyone that has f1tv can look up Checo’s onboard, he was getting information regularly about the gap and he was asking his engineer many questions about Max’s state in the race
After Max overtook Checo then the radio message were less frequent, but you guys tell me what was Checo’s engineer supposed to say after Max doing all of that?
And that tire strategy bs lol on 21st lap Checo got the same hard tires that were so great according to Checo plus 20 laps younger then Max’s, and the gap was 18 seconds, and on 45th lap when Max was on 45 old hard tires guess what was the gap? 18 seconds.
Max just drove a masterclass and all attempts to muddy that are just pathetic tbh

Pretty boring race, thought it would be better with mixed up starting grid. Suspect same dog and pony show at Imola, perhaps Monaco will give us some excitement.

Sucks when qualifying is more exciting than the race itself.

Boring Race ? There where tones of over taking a lot of guys racing for their spots great battles in the mid fried I thought it was awesome …. Max is better then Checo guys get used to it because Checo has 2 more races to win Max is going to Dominate but there is still racing
