Swami Sarvapriyananda reads and discusses the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna is an English translation of the Bengali spiritual text Sri Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita by Swami Nikhilananda. The text records conversations of Ramakrishna with his disciples, devotees and visitors, recorded by Mahendranath Gupta, who wrote the book under the pseudonym of "M."

What a joy it is to see that Swami Sarvapriyananda is dedicated to commenting on the central book of this tradition that bears the name of Ramakrishna. May this center on the Master, Sri Ramakrishna, be ever more constant, and may the devotion to God, without shame and without constraint, which is the hallmark of Thakur's teaching, always be spread by the monks who bear the name of Sri Ramakrishna.
Unfortunately, there is a great desire on the part of Swami Nikhlananda to incline the reading of Sri Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita towards the dry teaching of Advaita Vedanta, and this is always very clear in the attempts to say "Bhakti can be a good thing as long as one is too attached to the body..." Sri Ramakrishna did not teach this. Sri Ramakrishna taught that devotion is both a means and an end, that devotion to God is everything.
