STANDARDS

CCSS.2.OA.A.1 Use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve one- and two-step word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem. See Glossary, Table 1.

TEKS.1.3.F generate and solve problem situations when given a number sentence involving addition or subtraction of numbers within 20.

TEKS.2.11.F differentiate between producers and consumers and calculate the cost to produce a simple item.

TEKS.2.4.D generate and solve problem situations for a given mathematical number sentence involving addition and subtraction of whole numbers within 1,000.

TEKS.2.4.C solve one-step and multi-step word problems involving addition and subtraction within 1,000 using a variety of strategies based on place value, including algorithms; and

TEKS.1.5.D represent word problems involving addition and subtraction of whole numbers up to 20 using concrete and pictorial models and number sentences;

IN.2.CA.2 Solve real-world problems involving addition and subtraction within 100 in situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all parts of the addition or subtraction problem (e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem). Use estimation to decide whether answers are reasonable in addition problems.

VA.CE.2.6.c create and solve single-step and two-step practical problems involving addition and subtraction.

VA.CE.1.6 The student will create and solve single-step story and picture problems using addition and subtraction within 20.

FL.MAFS.2.OA.1.1 Use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve one- and two-step word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
