The aviation industry is constantly evolving, Airbus and Boeing are always competing against each other to develop the next big thing in aircraft design. With the introduction of the Airbus A350, some are speculating that this could very well be the end of Boeing's dominance in the wide-body aircraft market.

I'd say it's a 50/50 split between these two great airplanes. The 787 is widespreading to many airlines and satisfying carriers, while the A350 is pretty much doing the same. I think they are both incredible airplanes, and have blossomed really well in this industry.

There are things happening in the airline industry which are not known to the general public. For instance, it is public knowledge that Rolls-Royce is developing a gigantic new jet engine which will produce higher thrust than any existing engine. But it is not known on what sort of aircraft these gigantic high thrust engines could be used. The engine would probably not fit under the wings of any existing aircraft.
