I find that setting it to overly BEFORE starting the high-pass is a bit more useful, because then you can see what the filter is going to do. That way you won't need to guess at the strength you need to set it at.
Also, running a remove-noise filter afterwards might be advisable, depending on how badly it was blurred in the first place.

@england2345able You can probably go back and forth all day on saying which one is actually BETTER. I prefer this way mostly because of how fast it is. I havent used your way so i cant really compair results but I just like the ease and results from the highpass.

@Cha0sXXL oh yea, the RAW version just adjust the contrast in the shadows and it will work, but it doesnt look as clean, and you dont have the ability to apply a mask or change the opacity. thanks for watching!

Yes this is a very useful tutorial thanks but PLEASE all you teachers spend time demonstrating the effect but you flash over which button you are using and I have to repeat the video three times before I can catch what you are actually doing! We are not all 20 years old and we need a little clearer indication of the controls used. Thanks anyway.
