The shoe thing actually (almost) happened to my boyfriend! We had been out walking through slush and puddles, and realised that he needs some more suitable footwear asap because his trainers were leaking terribly. So we popped into the shop. He tried on loads of different shoes in this huge second-hand shop, but when he finally found a good pair of winter shoes, we couldn't find his old shoes anywhere! We went to the cashier and told her what had happened, and she showed us a pair of shoes behind the counter that she had *almost* just sold. The only reason the person trying them on had decided not to buy them was that they were wet 🤣 Lucky for us, as they were my boyfriend's favourite shoes! We couldn't stop laughing after the initial shock...
