Crime has actually dropped in recent months on Hst. Probably due to a more increased visible police presence.
That unnecessary law upping hourly wages for traditionally tipped employees is really hurting small bars and restaurants. These businesses need to raise prices which is keeping some customers away. Many bars and restaurants operate on razor thin margins to begin with so losing just a small percentage of their business can devastate their bottom line.
In order to keep up with these increases in the hourly wage bars and restaurants are needing to raise prices on many items up to and even more than 20% on many if not all menu items and it's going to get worse as the hourly wage increases this summer and again next year.
The customers are going to end up paying more for their meals and/or drinks than they would when even leaving a very generous tip.
