Fans hated that Saitama got character development.
Fans hated that Saitama didn't get character development.

He 100% should've remembered what happened, and how it felt to let loose a little.

Saitama still had that character development, the events we saw just let the viewer see it.

A lot of people seem to forget that with real people, growth isn’t always obvious from the outside. Saitama has been growing as a character since he met Genos really. He’s made more friends, he’s opening up to others like King, addressing his feelings of stagnation (and basically depression) and taking advice to find new ways to keep making progress and find purpose.

He already cares a lot about those around him. He just doesn’t state it outright. That is outside of when we saw him lose Genos. Saitama doesn’t need to remember losing Genos, he knows he cares about his friend. But now WE know, and we know just how devastating he can be if he were to no longer be grounded by him.

I'm kinda on that side it was kinda weird that they just hit the hard reset button like a marvel or dc comic book

Nah it didnt ruin it at the end saitama didnt even get a character development he just was angry that he was too late for genos. If he had character development at the end if the fight before the time reset saitama could have actually been more angry that earth was literaly destroyed and turned into a nuclear wasteout. Saitama literaly is the type of character that never gets development in my oponion since even after the fight with garou and being back on earth he acted the same as he did in the first chapter he literaly didnt care since he was just strong

Saitama and mob sort of remind me of each other not only because they both look like hard boiled eggs but also because they’re strong characters who emotionally grow throughout the series

I like to think maybe it'll be revealed that Saitama didn't just lose those memories, but instead they were repressed. It was a traumatic thing for him to lose his friends and everything he cared about, and maybe his brain decided to block out the memories of it happening because it was just too much for him to cope with. We got to see what that pain caused Saitama to do, but then he just...locked that fury and pain away. He didn't want to unleash anything like that again and hurt the planet, so it was just easier for his brain to lock out those memories

It didn't ruin anything, and it didn't take away any character development. What we saw was Saitama truly showing his feelings after losing his friend, and cutting loose. The time travel was pretty cool, and gives them a chance to do a lot of different things with the story now. It has to be brought back up in the future in the manga.

I don't mind that Saitama didn't remember anything, other than getting a bit angry he didnt really change much, I'm sad Garou didn't remember anything, because he essentially swapped sides to send Saitama back. Genos knowing what happened is very interesting though, especially with what is happening with him in the webcomic, if Genos knows about time travel it sets up some interesting things.

Opm has always been a gag comic, a play on the general stuff that pulls these stunts all the time

Dude, it was beautifully written. I love the direction it went. Between Murata an One, this is pure gold

I liked it.

I think the whole fight was made to SHOW what Garou, Saitama, and God are capable of, the time travel portion is just a reset button to put everything back together after the show for the readers.
