Just shows what a cosmic jewel the Earth is doesn't it? Congrats on the 1000th episode. One of the few YouTube channels I truly enjoy.

YT takes way too much from creators. They don't need 30-40%. They're practically a hostile monopoly. Keep up the good work. Got you covered on Patreon

Navigating to a destination through interstellar space would have to be incredibly complex, as much as traversing that distance itself. I would like to see you make a video on that topic, since I haven't seen any other videos made about it. Thank you for making very informative content!

They are looking at us, thinking that there is no way life could arise on a planet rotated everyday. They know that life requires a planet to be tidally locked.

Great content as always. And just a suggestion to the viewers out there to help AA. Have just one less Starbucks a month or cut a couple of worthless channels from your cable package and then do a $5/mth Patreon membership. Let’s keep this wonderful content going

Hey, angry astronaut. I just started getting your videos on my recommendations, and now I follow you. I ❤️ your show. In the video, you said that with today's technology, we could get to proxima b. At best, 10 plus years or 20 years, depending on the spaceship. But if we can't get a human in habitations pods. How would we feed the crew for that long? Also, happy 1000th 🎉show.

Another fascinating take on interstellar travel! The thing that I don't here anyone talking about is the incredible value found in Ceres which appears to have large H2O reserves near the surface and a gravity well shallow enough to be considered more of a gravity wading pool. Water, both as a human resource and as a fuel, that has that low of a "cost to ?orbit?" means we should be spending more time figuring out how utilize that resource. It would be cool to just crash it into Mars as a type of high-impact terraforming, but I'll stick with things we can do with today's technology. We could harvest ice, launch it with simple magnetic accelerators, and fuel a ship that used existing nuclear fusion technology to vaporize and accelerate water as the fuel. With fuel at that low of a cost, we can start to entertain vehicles with enough inner capacity to support human life for years at a go.

The planet in the graphic for Proxima was rotating. Though you factually stated it’s tidally locked. Hehe. Great content AA! Love the lucid feeling and awesome cg.

Edit: camera rotating around the planet got it 😉
