Slugging works wonders for me and I suffer with acne… so I really feel like it depends on the situation

I'm acne prone and my skin loves Vaseline. I started slugging with Vaseline 6 months ago and I honestly have the best skin of my life right now. Ever since I started slugging, my fine lines look less pronounced and my skin is so plump and hydrated. I still get breakouts around the time of my period, but they heal so much quicker because of the Vaseline (and differin).

When I worked in a dermatology office they would bring us multiple giant paper bags worth of samples/full size product, order us lunch, randomly pop in with coffee, snacks and full sized product gifts for us. At night once I’m done with my skincare, I slug with Vaseline ONLY under my eyes and around my mouth, to prevent fine lines. No where else. I’m acne prone and only using it in certain areas is the way to go 👏🏻

Unfortunately shea butter breaks me out like crazy and Cicaplast Baume has a lot in it.

So I'd rather go for something really inert like mineral oil or squalane and my fave is CeraVe in tub (I also never have problems with cetyl/stearyl alcohol).

This esthetician online says to wash your face for ONE minute so all the debris comes out. I’ve done it and I feel the difference! So there’s no opportunity for any debris to be left in the pores. Perfect foundation for slugging.

If you wash your face before doing it I don’t see why it would be a problem. Especially if you are like me with really dry skin. I tried using the cicaplast baume before but I go through the tube too fast and it’s kind of expensive for my budget. On the other hand my $10 tub of vanicream lasts literally forever and does the job just as well. Just my experience as someone with acne & eczema prone skin

I love some good Vaseline! It’s so great when you’re prone to dryness and irritation. The cicaplast baume unfortunately caused an allergic reaction for me! My skin got super dry and inflamed. 😢

It’s such a highly individual thing, but Vaseline can help some with acne prone skin, especially if there’s a lot of inflammation. For others, it can break them out. You just gotta kinda take a gamble and see where you fall into with it. I can slug every single night and never breakout.

I have super dry skin and putting a thin layer of vaseline all over my face at night before bed is the one thing that makes my skin not flaky and dry for the entire next day!

acne adult here. And slugging aquafor has BEEN SOOO GOOD FOR MY DRY SKIN. And my breakouts have been like... zero.

The new Barrier Jelly from Experiment is touted as "micro slugging" because it only has 3% petroleum in it. I love it.

Aquaphor, helped me repaired my barrier and actually fixed the acne issues I had. But my acne was mainly precipitated by dry top layer of skin trapping oil underneath

I was out of makeup remover balm and had been using petroleum jelly then do a wipe with REN aha tonic, then i moistureize with clinique jelly...i have acne prone skin.

It just depends on the person. Many people have had great results from slugging with acne prone skin. Same thing with oil. For the longest time people kept saying no oil for acne. But it literally cleared my sisters acne. Saved her life if I may even say 😂
