A GREEN HOUSE THAT USES HEAT PUMP to extend growing zone with a pretty high tech root caller with ventilation and ground water and sump pump and dehumidifier in it. AS WELL a "summer canning station or kitchen in same location. Like they used to put summer kittens in the center of the gardens back in the day so they did not heat up the house with all the production of canning good right out of the garden. If there was a way to tie all these into and next to a outside garden as well you should never be without food if you put forth enough effort to create a reasonable surplus and stay out ahead what you consume.

Keeping your root cellar cool is key and the heat from the greenhouse may interfere with the temps in your cellar?

Well, it crossed my mind once, but I want the floor of the greenhouse to be a heat sink to help heat the GH.
I needed a root cellar for several years, but I could never figure out where to put it. We opted to do an experiment with refrigerated building panels and dug into the ground about a foot and will mound wood chips over it. Chose a spot where there were no tree roots and underground utilities. Would like it to be in shade, but then there would be roots.

No no no! Ghouse will increase the heat of the celler or viceversa. IDEA. GH get over 80 degrees. Try her approach without causing potatoes and onions to sprout.

I have a Greenhouse on top of my Root Cellar. I am using the geothermal temp of the Root Cellar Floor to prevent the Greenhouse from freezing in the winter. The second episode it’s so cool because this is all about this man and his daughter, who actually he has through his marriage and they’re just super close. They create these really cool unconventional units and buildings. In the second episode, he does a walkout root cellar that incorporates a greenhouse above it and all, and I really like this idea because my Topography in the back could allow for that because of the big sloping.
