It is not about the content of the education but the scarcity that makes the degree valuble.

Look at the charter for Arizona State University. The entire mission of the university is aimed at exactly this problem

It’s missing a crucial point. The quality of the professors and school is not important. The quality of the students is what makes a school. Those will be your classmates that you network with and do homework with and learn together from. They’re the people that you cofound companies with and hire. If you increase acceptance, you start to accept people with lower test scores and lower GPAs. Harvard doesn’t sell education, what Harvard sells is the ability to spend 4 years with the 1500 most stellar high schoolers in the nation.

Yes, they could increase enrollment but there are other constraints, student housing, more professors of same caliber, classroom space, the campus is geographically and skill limited

Youtube is to the oral language what the press was to writing. Not changing education is stupid

They’re supposed to be the best and brightest students. Dei negates that. Just do what the guy says I guess.

The only difference between a harvard education & cal-state san bernardino is the entrance requirements. harvard invites only smart students to attend.

The additional 13, 500 (15, 000 - 1, 500) students will not be as smart as the 1st 1, 500.

Both schools are accredited by the same organization. They use the same textbooks.

The excess endowment should be given to payoff the $1.6T in student debt.

What would be the point of going to Harvard if it takes in a massive amount of students. The point of going to Harvard is exclusivity. It makes you more valuable in the job market.

Even more beneficial would be taxing these endowments so that a chance to survive America doesnt require the benevolence of getting admitted to college
