How to HOTKEY 'Flip Canvas Horizontal' in Photoshop

Using Photoshop Actions, you can hotkey any recorded function in Photoshop. In this video I'll show you how to hotkey the 'flip canvas horizontal' function, as it's extremely useful to have on hand when painting and drawing.

If it loads too long for you then It's better to go into Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts then apply a hot key for application menus to View>Flip Horizontal. Night and day compared to the video.

you know you can set a hotkey for it: Edit>Keyboard shortcuts
open Image>Image rotation>Flip Canvas Horizontal
I set mine to Alt+Clt+~

Better way of doing this, Click on top right of actions tab and select "Insert menu item" then select to View>Flip Horizontal.
That way it doesn't record the actual flipping of the canvas in the undo history so you can flip and paint using undo without a headache.

or you could just bind a key directly to it without creating an action? what's the purpose of making an action with only one command that is already mappable to a hotkey?

Does Photoshop really not have the BASIC mirror tool like Art Studio Pro does on the ipad? In this video, you are litterally flipping your canvas so when you save it flipped, it will be saved flipped even though you are only using it for refreshing your perspective. in Art Studio Pro, they have this but they ALSO have 'mirror' where it does the flip while retaining it's true orientation for when you save it. Also it is INSTANTANEOUS and doesn't take so much processing power like it does here where it took a second to flip (so, that's processing power). PS reeeally needs a mirror function for us painters.
