"Stör ich?" - "Ja?"
My favorite interaction in a YouTube video this week 😂

Just got an M3 and sold my M11. Together with my MP, I am analog-only now 😎 (but still can use my husbands Q3 😄)

I like it both. You got the best of both worlds now! 📸. No need to look at any either as a replacement. They can live happily together.

That was a great comparison about your experience, great video!
I wish I would use my M6 and M9 more often but having to small kids I use my Nikon Zf and lately X100VI simply because I can’t manual focus fast enough 😅
Keep up the great work und Grüße aus dem Süden / Esslingen (bei Stuttgart) :)

After shooting film, Leica M3 & Nikon F2, for most of my photography the acquisition of a Leica MD 262 changed the way I now shoot. The biggest reason is the cost of film, optical prints, premium scans, flash drives and shipping costs that are over $100 a roll! The MD262 satisfies my experience of film but shooting digital also. Having a camera that shoots like film with a digital soul. I`d think you'll love the MD262!
I did have a chance to visit my daughter and son in law in the Netherlands in May 2024. I used my Nikon F2 and four rolls of film. Luckily I managed to avoid X-Ray screening and customs was gracious enough to hand check the film.
My next vacation will be in Italy where I`ll take the Leica MD 262...!

Since (almost) bankrupting myself with buying an M11, I primarily shot black and white with my M6. At first because I love it to develop by myself and at second because Colorfilm is disproportionate / insanely expensive. A used M11 equals roughly 220 developed rolls of Portra 800 (for me 2-3 years of shooting). At least this was my “Milchmädchenrechnung” to justify the M11 purchase 😂

13:40 I don't believe that with you present anyone is noticing the camera :). Thanks, I always appreciate your videos!

Great comparison. My current M is the M10-D, and it is a dream. Not having a screen or buttons on the back makes for a much better ergonomic experience. Nice thing is you can always pop the Visoflex on if you really need a screen. Only one thing would make the M10-D perfect would be if it was black paint.

I started with Fuji but just bought a Rollei 35 SE for the small pocketable size. Can’t wait to play with it

Very nice, creative video! I just got an M10 to complement my Q3. I usually shoot with my Q3 in manual mode, but I find the M10 makes you slow down even more. And of course, more lenses!

Lovely video again Karin! Iam also a Hybrid Leica "shooter". Leica M4, M6, M8 and M(type 240). So have the best of both worlds. The Kodak CCD-sensor in the M8 comes very close to film actually.

I also have the M6 and M10 (with thumb rest). Since I like to process my own film, I use the M6 for BW photos and the M10 for color. I like both cameras very much, but I also enjoy medium format film as well.

I'm a bit more extreme. When I shoot film then I want the full mechanical experience from vintage cameras (60s and earlier). When I shoot digital then I want all the benefits of modern technology: EVF, eye detection, video, IBIS, focus bracketing and so on.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It was good to hear the pros and cons. Overall, it sounds like it was a positive experience for you to get the M10. 👍🎞️📷

I only recently discovered your channel and have enjoyed very much the few videos that I have watched so far. This particular video is very interesting for me. having grown up in an analogue age where the only option was film and in particular black and white due to costs. It is interesting how in the modern era people try to compare film and digital. To me they are different experiences but having grown up with film my attitude towards using digital camera still is grounded from using a film camera. I think the user needs to slow down in a digital age and think about the craft and not focus too much on the modern technological advancements. It is of course great to have a digital camera like you mentioned that gives an experience close to that of a film camera. I was interested in the your comment about the Q that you used and how you felt it was more of a digital camera. At present I have the Q2 and the Q2M but keep thinking about getting a M11 but I have never used a rangefinder camera before. Thanks for the great videos Karin and look forward to watching more.

Good evening Karin,
interesting and honest comparison. My experience is M7 and M10M. M7 bought new over 20 years ago, and M10M recently new (to me).

I have always been a fan of aperture priority, so both are perfectly similar and therefore interchangeable. Muscle memory as you say. Now sound wise they both are discreet, I think the M10M is quieter than your version.

Now for years I have liked the artisan and artist half case for the M7 for its thinness and softness to the touch. I recently added the artisan and artist M10 half case to the M10M. To me it is acceptable and soft to the touch, which I appreciate. May be you should give it a try.

I won't comment on use case as we are all different!

Tolles neues Intro und sehr schöner Vergleich der beiden Systeme.
Die alte Dame war ja süß.

Ich hab immer noch Tränen vor lauter Lachen in den Augen😂😂😂

Great video Karin! I'm a hybrid shooter like you. M10 and my father's M2 and a few others as well. Switching between the M's is very easy like you said. I also felt like the M10 wasn't as discreet as the M2 even though the M2 is bright silver. I think it's the giant red dot on the black body that stands out so much, I put a little black gaffer's tape over it and now I don't feel like I stand out as much. The M10 is my daily driver but the M2 is never far away.
