spray can generally goes on thicker than an airbrush. comparing apples and oranges.

A true comparison would be to use the the Testors Dullcote Lacquer Liquid and spray it through the airbrush.  It is better than their spray version.

Hello. I've bought a tube of Vallejo Matt Varnish, and I didn't notice that in on the back it suggests using it in an airbrush. I don't own one, and now my question is if it's possible to apply this with a brush. Perhaps it needs to be thinned in some way. I am painting noob, any advice is much appriciated. This was kind of pointless as a comparison of the actual products, since the differences you note have much more to do with the application techniques. It's really a comparison of airbrush vs. spray can.

Did you use it on more than one model already? With the normal vallejo primer I have the problem that it dries kinda fast in the airbrush, I guess with varnish this is even worse.

This comparison is absolutely pointless. You should compare airbrush varnish vs another airbrush varnish... its like comparing... let´s say.... an AK-47 against a Flamethrower... " eerrrr... yes... uhh.... the ak-47 was amazing, all the brains of the victim on the wall... eerrrr... but the flamethrower was cool too... errrr... check out those shiny white teeth on the roasted dude.... I like being able to use my airbrush because of the amount of control I have. But the Vallejo looks a bit more shiny. Maybe it was just the video?
