Loved this version of "don't fear the reaper" even the original was and in my opinion still a big hit for most Modern Shooter games. But this with MW3 it fit so well with it's tragedy that a global crisis is about to begin from Makarov's devotion.

Thr fact that this game will be released on the same day that Kevin Conroy died a year prior. Gives this song choice a grimmer meaning.

Oh and that month just so happens to be November. The much darker, colder more serious autumn month as opposed to the slighty warmer, crispier, more festive month of October like the prevoius two games? Yeah, triple grim.

The lyrics make it sound like a love song, to not fear being with the bad boy. But it’s really about a girl dying from suicide, or her accepting the reality of death. To not be afraid of death.

“Romeo and Juliet are together for eternity, we can be like they are.” They are together in the afterlife, so “don’t be afraid, ” says the reaper. Death isn’t scary if you can be at peace after. “You will be able to fly” into the afterlife, referring to becoming an angel (or devil too, I guess). You will be in the afterlife and “you will become like them, ” just like “those who passed.”

Death, or the Reaper, is saying to take his hand because he’s her man to take her to the afterlife. Grabbing his hand is the touch of death, but also sounds like a love gesture.

I can tell that just from them using this version of "don't fear the reaper", this campaign will be cold-blooded. Someone is dying. Idk who, but it will definitely be a main character. This version definitely creates a slight feeling of dread. With makarov involved, shit is gonna end bad for alot of people.

This song is very bitter sweet, and this version brings out the best in the lyrics. A song about eternal love and inevitable death, don't forget to hold on tight to the ones you love and treat each other like angels because in the blink of an eye, we will all cease to exist here anymore, we will be " just like they are"❤
