Actually the game is set in the 1800s, the mc KILLS A TON of dark wizards so Aveda is just a step above.

Btw you need to be level 27 to get the last side mission and they recommend you be level 28

You will have a conversation with Sebastian after he uses Avada Kedavra and you can either say “everyone should learn it” or “no one should”, if you say no one should then he doesn’t teach you but afterwards another character named Ominis will ask whether you want to turn Sebastian in or not, if you choose not to, you can return to Sebastian after completing all the side quests for him and he will still teach you

This quest line is simple. You will start just to learn the killing curse, but finish for Sebastian.
