Ubiquiti Insider: UniFi Network 7.2 | Camera AI Theta | UISP: Router Switch Power Console [Aug 2022]

Welcome to Ubiquiti Insider, where we share insights into the latest Ubiquiti R&D advancements. We released Network 7.2 (UniFi OS 2.5 required for Load Balancing), announced Protect Camera AI Theta and UISP Router, Switch, Power, and Console .

00:14 We’re excited to officially release UniFi Network 7.2 that includes several major updates including Load balancing, Local DNS Record support for Clients, and improved Global Network and Switch settings. We also upgraded several high level dashboard metrics including an internet health section so you can accurately monitor your ISP connection.

00:38 We improved our motion alert functionality within UniFi Protect 2.1 by adding a brand new Line Crossing feature for cameras that support smart detections. This allows you to designate a directional threshold that alerts you when a person or vehicle crosses - a new level of granularity to alerts and notifications.

00:56 We also enabled smart detection for cars and people to the G4 Instant, making this a full featured, cost effective solution for wireless camera deployments.

01:06 In UniFi Talk, we launched Call Transcription into Early Access, a smart transcription feature that gives you the ability to search all your conversations as well as jump to key points for quick reference.

01:20 We released our highest performing AP, the UniFi 6 Enterprise, which allows you to take advantage of WiFi 6E speeds that can achieve over 10 Gbps combined over-the-air throughput rates. The PoE+ LAN Port has been upgraded to 2.5Gigabit Ethernet and is optimally paired with our high capacity 2.5Gb Ethernet Enterprise PoE Switches.

01:48 We released the UniFi 6 Extender, a plug-and-play mesh AP perfect for extending coverage anywhere PoE may be difficult to access.

01:57 We upgraded our building-to-building bridge with the all new UniFi Building-to-Building Bridge XG, now with a 10Gbps SFP+ port, capable of creating a powerful, multi-gigabit outdoor wireless link between two locations.

02:15 We are also proud to announce a breakthrough innovation from the typical security camera form factor by deconstructing the digital hardware from the pure camera optics, we have made the footprint of the installed camera incredibly complementary to interior design - and we call this AI Theta. (Early Access)

Theta is a Power over Ethernet camera system supporting a variety of lenses ranging from 360 degrees to telescopic that can sit flush within a wall or ceiling with just a 22mm diameter footprint. And the lenses can attach from the main unit up to 30m away.

AI Theta features hi-frame rate 4K resolution, impressive image dynamic range, advanced lens dewarping, and AI analytics focused on guest presence for additional business value.

Right out of the box it installs in minutes and is managed by our UniFi Protect Application and runs on UniFi consoles, which provide the remote-access capabilities of cloud-based solutions.

03:15 We also released UniFi Protect Smart Chime, a simple plug-and-play digital chime that can be instantly added to your existing Protect Doorbell. The UniFi Smart chime serves as a replacement or extension to your existing setup and seamlessly installs in minutes.

I love this company's products. I turn your 6U rack into a working network rack glass table (remove the handles on top, add temper glass with rubber feet to top of rack) Never been done before as far as I know!! I post pictures online, and got a lot of positive feedback on it!

Dear Unify, in the old interface, in Wi-Fi settings, at mac filtering I could see the mac address of the device and the name of the device, why did you remove this option in the new interface? please bring it back, it's such a useful feature. please. Thank you.

Just an FYI, Network 7.2 caused my APs to drop wireless momentarily. I have not seen other Unifi Network updates do this, so this is definitely an end-of-day update.

Why does the UISP switch use 27v passive PoE? In my 10 year career I’ve never once encountered a device using this. This is really dumb!
