He wrote that song at age 19, amazing song originally came out in 1967, then it was released again in 1972, one of the greatest songs ever made!

his voice is still as great as it ever was in his youth, one of the best voices in music history

His voice has aged better than anyone in rock. You still need to hear him at 20. It will make you cry.

This song is one of those masterpieces that defy the sands of time. Why can't we make music like this anymore?😢

The lead singer, Justin Hayward, wrote this when he was 19. He is 77 and still on tour! I will see him live again in June! His voice is still as beautiful and compelling as EVER!! And your reaction to Rays flute is so charming!! Thank you!!

I was actually blown away, i never saw old Moody Blues, only heard the originals growing up, he took care of his voice. This might be one of the best live performances that sound like the original

Every member of the Moody Blues was so talented and could play multiple instruments. Studio albums they didn't need a backup orchestra, they could produce an orchestra themselves.

"Nights In White Satin" is their most famous song. Moody Blues are one of my favorite groups from the 60's-80's. Love their mix of rock with classical music. Lots of great songs such as "Go Now", "Tuesday Afternoon", "The Story In Your Eyes", "Question", "Ride My See-Saw", "I'm Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)", "Gemini Dream", "The Voice" etc. All of their music is great! Many of their records are concept albums & meant to be listened to all at once. Sadly Ray Thomas their flute player & singer passed away in 2018 & their drummer Graeme Edge passed away in 2021.

One of the most beautiful songs of all-time. It has brought me to tears many times over the decades. 🥲

Arguably, the album this song came from, Days of Future Past, is considered the first Progressive Rock "concept" album in history. It was built around a classical symphony and in-total goes through a day in one's life, song by song. Your reaction and review was of the last song on the album, which has become the quintessential Moody Blues song. It was written by Justin Hayward, the lead singer, for his girlfriend, after a lengthy separation. He gave it to her, together with a set of white satin sheets, at their reunion. I loved your reaction.

The main force in the group behind the rich orchestral and cosmic texture in their music within the seven core albums, was Mike Pinder, co-founder of the band, keyboard player and songwriter (who left the band in the late 70s, way before this concert) just passed away a week ago. Mike's transcendent soul and creativity was the life-force behind the Moody Blues. He's up there with the great classical composers. RIP on your journey, Mike!

Wow, Biss, Moody Blues, you've really gone back to a classic from my pre-teen yrs. There's nothing like the 60s/70s. His voice is still 90% of what it was. Beautiful incl. the flute, haunting. Super pick, 😊

4:54 Apologies if you've already done it but if you love the Flute then Jethro Tull is a must, the pinnacle! There was no such thing as Folk Rock until Ian Anderson decided there should be! Almost on a whim he became one of the world's greatest flautists. Their live performances are amazing! A bunch of amazing musicians just having a great time! I challenge anybody to hold back a smile
whilst watching them.

"Days of future passed" was an album with a lot of orchestral back up. You would enjoy it.

Mike Pinder the founder of the group and keyboard player just passed a couple of days ago. He was the one who came up with these arrangements. Once they did this they found their sound and created a whole genre.

The Moody Blues created music that are "trippy" and that you don't have to get "high" to appreciate or "groove" into it. Its one of those music that I listen to when I feel "moody" and it just relaxes me and as mentioned my mind goes "tripping" to it. Great band.

I saw them in 1981, 1983, 1985, 1987 and 1992. Never a wrong note and the emotional response was there everytime. Awesome band.

You said you wanted more orchestra... "The Good, the Bad & the Ugly" by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. It's pretty unique.

I first became really aware of The Moody Blues in 1971 at a party when somebody put the album "To our Children's Children's Children" on the turntable. I was hooked.
They were a hugely important and influential band back in the day and this is a wonderful rendition of a classic.
