The Moody Blues is an English rock band. Among their innovations was a fusion with classical music, most notably in their 1967 album Days of Future Passed. The Moody Blues have sold in excess of 70 million albums worldwide and have been awarded 14 platinum and gold discs. As of 2011 they remain active with one member from the original band from 1964 and two more from the 1967 lineup. Their debut album The Magnificent Moodies, produced by Denny Cordell with a strong Merseybeat/R&B flavour, was released on Decca in Mono only in 1965. It contained the hit single together with one side of classic R&B covers, and a second including four Laine/Pinder originals."Bye Bye Bird" (Decca AT 15048) was lifted from the album in December 1965 as an overseas single charting in France (no.3).

this band has definately withstood the test of time..Wow...I've seen them several times..and I've loved this song since it's debut..These guys put on an amazing show..Do yourself a huge favor and catch them live somewhere JH is still my heart.

Mother played this album often so the music was mere background sounds in my youth. My girlfriend the last two years of high school dumped me for a friend. I couldn't sleep so I put this album on. This song pulled out of my eyes all of the heartache and tears I had held back. I replayed it for a couple of hours until the grief waned leaving me only the best memories of the first girl I loved with all my heart. Just the Nights in White Satin memories remain. I love her still. And always.
