Can Small And Scrappy Mazda Survive Among Automotive Giants?

Mazda is a small Japanese manufacturer that has gained a reputation for making cars for drivers. But as its executives have said, it is “not for everybody.” Its sales in the U.S. are small. In recent years, Mazda has a tiny share of both the U.S. and global car markets. Mazda faces its own challenges as the company may be impacted harder by regulatory changes than larger competitors who have a cushion to absorb compliance costs. Being small is not easy, especially in an era where car companies are saddled with the expense of growing some electric vehicle strategy and keeping pace with other technologies, such as automated driving systems. Circumstances are challenging for the small automaker, and Mazda is forming alliances and changing its brand image to ensure its survival.

Mazda is one of the companies that still cares about the experience of driving and still puts love and care into their designs. Hope to see them stick around because most other companies are just cranking out cookie cutter crossovers and American automakers are trash in general these days

Mazda is like all the good things about japanese automakers in one

-the Honda and Toyota reliability and durability
-the Honda sporty feeling
-the good gas mileage like a Suzuki
-the quality of Lexus

Mazda is the most underrated brand on the market. Once you drive a Mazda, you'll get it... If you take pleasure in driving.

Mazda's are really under rated, they've been improving ever since they split with Ford

With almost every company making CVTs as their main transmissions Mazda is still using more natural feeling transmissions thank you for that.

I love how Mazda manages to keep their interior very sleek and simple while keeping physical controls and buttons.

I've always loved Mazda and I hope they survive. They punch way above their weight.

I never knew Mazda was considered "small". Mazda 3's are everywhere up here in Canada.

Big fan of the Mazda brand. The Mazda 6 was my first car and sparked my passion for driving. Even though I have a Porsche now for my “fun car”, I think I’ll always try to keep a Mazda in my garage for an affordable, reliable, and sporty daily driver. Want to see this company succeed over the generic Hondas, Toyotas, and KIAs of the world.

As an engineer I have always said that if I could go work for any car company it would be Mazda.

If Chrysler and GM are still around I can safely say Mazda will be just fine. Considering they actually make reliable vehicles.

I have a MX-5 RF. It is hands down the best car I have ever purchased and its a joy to drive EVERY single time. I will definitely purchase another Mazda as my next vehicle.

The design of even the cheap Mazda’s are impressive, the front ends in particular are very good looking

So i had a 20 year old Mazda until someone ran into me about a year ago. It had nealy 300k miles on it and was the best car i have ever had. Last year i bought a 10 times more expensive Audi which has spent more time at the dealer for repairs to make than on the road. I would never buy a different brand anymore. Mazda is the best.
