I had the same problem it was driving me nuts couldn't get anything to work factory reset direct connect with an ethernet cord nothing worked but then I got the ideas connected to my phone Wi-Fi hotspot after a factory reset and it worked no problem, I installed the most recent updates via the hotspot once the updates were completed the box booted me up to the main menu and I was able to connect to my home Wi-Fi no problem hope this works and helps other people
