Great presentation! I am a product test engineer, not an IC designer, and I work more with bipolar circuits, but why is CMOS L more intuitive than CMOS W? To me, W is simply like putting devices in parallel. I think that L is often the minimum allowed by the process, except when sacrificing area to lower noise, which is not intuitive to me.
Also, could there be a bipolar or bicmos version of this tool? BJT gm/I is always high at 1/Vt, like CMOS subthreshold or WI, but we often attach an emitter resistor to each BJT to improve matching which effectively lowers gm/I. Could this tool help designers select BJT and RE sizes?
