Love this idea as I’ve been suggesting this concept — playable Zelda and Ganondorf, along with Ganondorf’s redemption for the past few months. It’s not a popular notion, but it is quite vogue these days for there to be an alternate perspective on things from the villain’s side.

Was this Ganondorf actually a willing participant in his own binding?

Will Ganondorf struggle with his evil side in TotK like a sort of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde?

8:40 - because its thematic, the rune is suffused with Scarlet Rot... makes sense that it's not desirable. Also since it's behind the most difficult/final boss with no way of bringing great runes into NG+ then having the reward not be crucial softens the blow that you can't really use it unless you deliberately go for it before other boss where you could use it.

Great video I would like to see a puppet of Ganondorf rebel against him, with Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf having to defeat them. maybe Link on the surface, Zelda on the sky islands, and Ganondorf underground.

But we know what happens when you destroy the triforce... in A Link between worlds they destroied the Triforce from Lowrule. And it was a disaster for their land.

I really really hope he's good in this, that would be so cool. I know Moxie has a really sick theory about the green hand being evil and will betray link in the end. It would be a nice reversal of expectations:D

The focus if "good ganondorf" is that as a male baby is born to the gerudo, the spirit of ganondorf doesn't take over straight away. The mummified ganondorf may be a willing participant to the sealing. Since taken over by Demise and there's a duality there.

that would certainly be a fresh something in the usual “hero and princess fight the evil monster” formula… the question is, can the person that caused the calamity be a good person or get a redemption arc? or if it wasn’t Ganondorf who caused the calamity, who did?
i’m secretly hoping ever since I saw the trailer that it turns out Ganondorf as a person, in this incarnation, never was evil, but rather possessed by Demise, the actual bodiless calamity that used him for his triforce powers. That could change the plot to “we need to drive Demise out of Ganondorf and possibly end the cycle, and then perhaps come to terms with that we’ve sealed a conscious innocent person for millennia because we thought he was evil”.
But then again, writing never was Zelda’s strong suit and i think it’s very unlikely we will get that.

The triforce keeps balance in the world. If it stopped existing the world would crumble lorule already tried in a link between worlds

Destroying the Triforce wouldn't work, just look at what happened to Lorule in a Link Between Worlds when they did just that. It ended the world.

Isn’t breath of the wild kinda it’s own new start? Stemmed off of SS? Like I think the other games are legends in BOTW.
