You make me painfully aware if your not a doctor there’s so many aspects to reactions because of health conditions we take for granted. Thankyou for the knowledge ❤

60 degrees? That's swimming lessons for kids in May in Minnesota. An ice bath is going to be well below 50 and ideally below 40.

I take ice baths and I feel incredibly focused and energized afterwards. I'm surprised the data isn't there because this is a common thing among everyone I know.

Thanks for the info, Doc. I do cool showers for the last minute or so after starting with warm (not hot) and it feels really invigorating and healthy for my skin and scalp. I've read that it's beneficial to take cool showers and actually got accustomed to them after spending nearly a month in the Caribbean visiting family with no hot water. I do like swimming in lakes and even the North Atlantic Ocean but I don't think I'll be doing any ice water plunges. Also, I do have arrhythmia which you pointed out could be a risk factor.

Hi Dr. Jen. I have had extreme chronic pain since age 6. I also have chronic arthritis gout flare ups just for eating something I don’t realize will cause a flare up. I’ve had chronic patella pain (like knives stabbing ) since childhood. I’m in my 40’s and have dealt with slight insomnia, headaches from chronic TMJ, etc. I have cut my diet down to eating hardly anything I did decades prior to avoid flare ups. Yet I still get them often from preservatives, sulfates, etc. And to top it off I just found out I have a horrific case of spinal stenosis. My spinal cord is being crushed, and I wake up numb. My left side/ ear/arm/is numb due to lack of spinal fluid not passing through up towards my neck to my brain. I just thought it was neck spurs. I have those, but this really scared me. It’s operable.. but still serious the dr. said. I’m sad because I’ve always been a jogger/dancer when I was younger..& a gymnast. I was in pain then .. but too tough. Thought I had growing pains. Then I just ignored my pain in my 20’s 30’s. Sry I wrote so much. I just want to ask if you think my doing Yoga (without hard neck stretching) is okay? And thx for the info about the cold bath. I’m def going to begin to take cold showers. Because it may help my inflammation. I noticed when going to the springs (I live in Florida) I always loved that feeling it gave me after getting out. So invigorating! Have a blessed day, weekend! ❤️&✌️

Hi Dr. Jen,
I just came across your video with regards to ice baths at this very moment. Funny thing, while I was at my sisters and nephews place for dinner last night. That was the very thing we were talking about. He even said he would like to get a tub so that he could do ice bath immersion. I’ve taken cold showers and was wondering what it would be like to sit immersed in ice water myself? It would be interesting to try. I suppose one could fill a Tub full of cold water, and add bags of ice to it.

Hi Dr Jen, can you please do a call on when tying your head tight with a band of something helps with headaches? Is it safe continuously do this? And how to recover from burnout naturally or switch off that fight or flight switch
