'Spoiler alert, there is going to be a general election in the second half of this year,' says Rishi Sunak in a response to a question during PMQs from the SNP's Stephen Flynn.

Sunak decline to rule out a summer date after Flynn insisted the prime minister respond to the 'speculation' surrounding an early general election. The Conservatives suffered heavy losses at the local elections in England earlier in May. The party lost 515 councillors, ceded control of 10 councils and was defeated in the West Midlands and the York and North Yorkshire mayoral contests
